Raylene D. Jernigan, CNM was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada but after becoming a registered nurse she had a strong desire to do some traveling. She moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where she began her path of caring for women and families in the labor & delivery unit. After 8 years in Texas she decided to move back closer to family and settled in Bangor, ME and continued her labor & delivery work at EMMC. She also had the opportunity to work here at Bangor OB/GYN as the clinical supervisor which allowed her to see a different side of women's health care. It seemed a natural progression to continue her education and become a certified nurse midwife and return to the Bangor OB/GYN family.
Raylene considers being present and part of such a life changing moment such a privilege and feels that every birth is special and unique. As a certified nurse midwife, Raylene is able to care for women not just during pregnancy and childbirth, but for many of their other health needs.
Raylene lives in Clifton with her husband Craig and the two youngest of their five children. She enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking, swimming, hiking and being outside enjoying nature. She also loves spending time with her children Victoria, Jordan, Katie, Mckenzie and Savanna, and her beautiful granddaughter Aubrey.
